Since our conceptual beginnings in the early 90s and entrance into the marketplace in 2004, Dynamic Clinical Systems has been a pioneer in the use of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) for improving patient care and research. But while health care organizations are increasingly recognizing the value of PROs, gaining value from them in an efficient manner is easier said than done.

Our specialized know-how and extensive experience are tremendous assets to our customers. In addition to powering PROs by offering the health care industry’s most comprehensive software solution, we use our unparalleled subject-matter expertise to offer services that help customers achieve their desired results.

These services include readiness assessments, patient support services and study management.

Readiness Assessments

While an organization may feel that they are ready for PROs, numerous details need to be considered before deciding to go ahead with any implementation. DCS helps customers understand these considerations and determine how to respond.

As part of this service we work with customers to:

  • Define the program’s goals;
  • Develop a readiness dashboard (color-coded display of critical success factors in predefined areas);
  • Create a total cost estimate;
  • Build a six-month implementation plan; and
  • Develop a risk mitigation plan.

Patient Support Services

Among the most important requirements for successful PRO implementation is ensuring that patients complete their assessments on time. To achieve this goal, it is critical for clinics to assign sufficient staff resources to design workflow, communicate with patients and actively monitor survey completion.

As an alternative, we can perform such tasks as setting up the survey (calling patients to describe survey process, collecting e-mail address, scheduling in-clinic surveys), offering a patient helpdesk (phone or e-mail technical support), facilitating at-home compliance (contacting patients with incomplete surveys), and in-clinic service (working on-site to foster survey completion / closure).

Study Management

As a contributor to more than 70 research initiatives – in addition to earning and delivering on five of its own National Cancer Institute projects – DCS is an expert in developing and managing high quality PRO-based research projects.

For our customers, we provide total study management, including:

  • Working with customers to identify research projects that deliver value;
  • Designing the study, ranging from study outcomes, protocol, inclusion/exclusion criteria, informed consent, methods and analytics, and associated IRB package;
  • Implementing the study by identifying and enrolling subjects, facilitating or managing data collection, and reporting key metrics;
  • Analyzing, reporting, and publishing results; and,
  • Drawing conclusions for improving clinical practice, supporting implementation and providing ongoing measurement of changes.
