Mark E. Kolb Named CEO of Dynamic Clinical Systems
Move to executive leadership position signals intention to aggressively pursue market expansion.
Hanover, N.H. (Oct. 11, 2011) – Leading patient-reported outcomes services and solutions provider Dynamic Clinical Systems (DCS) has named Mark E. Kolb its new CEO, a move that signals its intention to expand the business through sales and financing. In addition to assuming the CEO duties, Kolb continues to serve as the company’s chairman of the board, a post he has held since 2006.
“As the company’s leadership continues to pursue expanding opportunities in the area of patient-reported outcomes and engagement, we felt the need to add additional talent to the leadership team,” said Kolb, who will immediately take over CEO duties. “I am thrilled to be leading this experienced operating team. With the foundation Chris and Lisa Weiss and their team have built, we plan to fundamentally change how care quality is measured and make a genuine difference in patients’ health outcomes.”
A veteran of the health care industry, Kolb founded the life sciences consulting firm Taratec Development Corporation and led its significant growth before selling the company to Patni Computer Systems, one of India’s largest IT firms. From 2007 to 2011 he was a senior vice president at Patni, leading its global life science business.
The Ernst & Young New Jersey Entrepreneur of the Year in 2003 earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and studied at Harvard Business School. He serves on the Somerset Medical Center board of directors and the Montclair State University Science and Mathematics Advisory Board.
Current CEO and co-founder Chris Weiss will remain president of the company, focusing his time on sales and solution development.
“Mark is a very seasoned operating and financial leader, measured in part on having founded, scaled and sold his own health care-related business,” said Weiss, who will hand off the company’s day-to-day operations to focus on building and maintaining industry relationships. “He and I have developed a very close working relationship over several years that will enable him to have an impact with us day one.”
Lisa Weiss, who is now managing director for The Dartmouth Institute High Value Healthcare Collaborative, remains an important source of strategic counseling for the company.
